The 255s. yeah.

We’re done for now..

So, to our 2 followers…

We’re going to go quiet for a while, peoples lives are changing and that. We might be back this time next year, but maybe not.

Thanks to anyone who has put us on, given us a floor, bought a record or came to a show over the last 4 years. You’re the best.

Andy, Will, Carpet and Matiss.

“UNWELCOME GUESTS/THE 255s:
Split: 7’

Unwelcome Guests: Power pop punk somewhere in between the Bouncing Souls
and the Methadones. I dig this. Like a good meal, these guys took a while
to cook. I’ve heard stuff of theirs before, but nothing quite grabbed me
like this. A+. 255s: Superchunk-inspired pop punk from England. All the
best bands are inspired by Superchunk. Make your own conclusions.

New Review

Nick from ASFAR reviewed our 7” with Unwelcome Guests.

UNWELCOME GUESTS/THE 255S (Kiss of Death/ROIDH) NICK
This Transatlantic split 7” delivers on both sides in impressive style. First off Buffalo, New York’s Unwelcome Guests offer up two high-quality slices of super-tuneful breezy melodic pop-punk (we’re talking Replacements, not All Time Low here people) that wouldn’t see them out of place touring with fellow Buffalo outfit Lemuria. Meanwhile, on the flip side, the UK’s very own The 255s bring a thicker, more fuzzed-up sound to the table but the presence of some nice vocal harmonies and the melodic tilt to their guitar-work ensures their offering is just as beguiling and memorable as that delivered by their US split-mates. A great little release, I’d recommend heading over to http://roidh.bigcartel.com/ to pick it up now.

The 255s

The 255s are a 4-piece indie rock band from Manchester and Liverpool.

Formed as a Weakerthans/Piebald-inspired trio in 2007, they played with the likes of Leatherface, Chuck Ragan and Defiance, Ohio before releasing their debut album ‘Broadcasting’ as a free download.

In 2010 the band added volume in the form of a second guitarist/vocalist, before touring with Brothers of Exeter. Split 7”s followed with Unwelcome Guests (Kiss Of Death/ROIDH) and The State Lottery (All In Vinyl).

The 255s are currently writing their second album, and will tour England and Wales with Buffalo, NY’s Unwelcome Guests in summer 2011.

Optimistic about how many 7” we’ll sell tonight.
